I celebrated my birthday at Kona Grill . I was charged a small bowl rice for $ 4.75. When i questioned the manager she insulated me infornt of all the customer. " you need to pay for your order" there are no free lunch here. i couldn't even find the right words to describe how i felt. It is a rip rip off place.
I am glad I was referred to this restaurant by a friend during the playoffs in Houston, TX. I decided to treat myself to some sushi and cocktails this evening and the sushi was delicious! and fresh!. My waitress Melanie was not only prompt with service but had a friendly smile and a kind attitude she helped me and my friend decide on the menu. The manager also took the time to visit our table and welcome us to the restaurant. Try this location for yourself and your sure to be pleased!.
i celebrated my birthday at Kona Grill with family. i gave a tip in CASH. i was surprised to see the amount posted on my credit card transaction the day after. it was $20 more than the billed amount on my receipt! i immediately called the manager to complain and he e-mailed me a copy of the receipt they had. somehow, it was an overlook on my part coz i failed to write a line on the part that says "tip". that deceitful waiter actually wrote $20 on it!!!!!!!!!!!!! i couldn't believe it. i was so angry and disgusted...and... i couldn't even find the right words to describe how i felt. so you appreciate what they do and give them CASH and what do you get in return???... the manager promised he would take action. i got refunded with the $20 but i told him that was not entirely the point of it. it's all about honesty and their reputation. i told him none of our family was going back to KONA and i make sure i share this horrible story to my friends to make them aware. he promised he would get back with me and let me know what transpires his actions. to this day, i've never heard back from the manager. i wish that waiter would never get the chance to rip off someone else.
I ate at the Kona Grill as well and I got sick, people make me laugh when they say maybe you ate someone where else or drank something else and thats what made you sick..NO NO NO it was Kona grill i had to check in to the hospital...the doctor told me what it was it was that damn bad ass sushi..
Management in TERRIBLE!!! Do NOT eat here. You WILL be sorry!!
The food tasted decent and the margarita was great, so was the atmosphere. The bad surprise came a couple of hours later (Kona was the last thing I ate). I became violently ill (vomiting and diarrhea). I know it was their food because that's what I vomited. I will call them to complain and will see how they react.
I recently ate there... the food was a little greasy (it did taste a little like virgin olive oil, which is alittle healthier for you, but way too much of it) I had requested no pork in the fried rice, it was a little greasy, but it was flavorful. Service was slow, however the atmosphere was nice.. I will give Kona Grill another try..
The first time I ate at Kona Grill, my expectations were high because of it's location, it's usual business, and mostly the above average price tag. I ordered a bowl of pasta which sounded great, but it was literally a bowl filled with oil. I actually thought the cook wanted to quit and my food was his final disgruntled goodbye. I poured oil out of the bowl and onto my plate, filling the base of the plate, and there was still too much oil in my bowl to enjoy the meat (plus everything tasted like extra virgin anyway). The server offered to replace my meal, but didn't seam very simpathetic...as if I was wrong. Trust me, no italian dish in the world is supposed to come with that much oil!
I've only been once, but once was enough to say I LOVE IT!! I really enjoyed the environment and the food was delish. I will def be going back.
