(FOOD POISONING)
I visited The Kona Grill in the Galleria around 9:15pm on June 28th. I ordered Sushi it was called the The California Roll. The next morning around 7am I developed unusual stomach pains and uncomfortable cramps. Then and hour later I had diarrhea through out the morning and then around noon I was vomiting up blood and small white rice pellets, exactly what was in the sushi.
I started getting weak and I tried to eat and drink liquids nothing stayed down in my system, I vomited everything back up. I was becoming more and more dehydrated so I turned myself over to the LBJ Hospital. I barely fainted at the admission counter. Later that night the Doctors had me on fluids and did blood and stool, tests and diagnosed me with some type of stomach virus I caught from eating The sushi.
On July 1st I called up the Resturant and all the manager did was defend his establishment.

WOW! I LOVE KONA, IT'S AN EXCITING ENVIRONMENT TO BE AROUND. I LOVE THE FACT THAT ITS NEAR A BUSY INTERSECTIONM BECAUSE THERE ARE ALOT OF PEOPLE AND THINGS TO SEE. THE SERVICE IS A LITTLE SLOW BECAUSE OF THE HIGH OCCUPANCY, BUT IT'S MUCH WORTH THE WAIT. MY FAVORITE PART IS THE HAPPY HOUR, THEY HAVE THE BEST DRINKS IN TOWN!

I really enjoyed my dining experience at the Kona Grill. The atmosphere is very warm and relaxing. I had the Macadamia Nut Chicken and it was delicious. It comes with white cheddar mashed potatoes and this amazing sauce that I couldn't get enough of. The veggies that come with it are crisp and flavorful. For dessert you must try the macadamia nut pie. If you like pecan pie this is even better than that!! The meatloaf is also really good and it wasn't dry at all. Luckily I didn't have the bad servers that some of these other people experienced. I will definitely be going back for more!

sorry to hear about your experience, however, a California roll is made of rice, imitation crab meat, avocado and cucumber. There is nothing raw or likely to cause food poisoning in it. I'm thinking you probably ate or drank something else or you caught a stomach virus and Kona Grill just happened to be the last place you ate at. I've been to Kona Grill, and all the food is fresh and made from quality ingredients.
