great price, but smells like piss, shit, and sex.
this Cinema 8 has been around for along time,I agree this is a very lowkey theater an my kids love it...it saves me money an we still have a great time!
*giggles* the popcorn is amazing!
I'll be devastated if Windchimes cinema ever closes its doors! Like the other reviewers, I too have been a frequent patron of this theater...it's the chosen outing for me and my mother whenever we want to go low-key and just catch a movie, munch on fresh popcorn, and walk away feeling satisfied from our good-value experience.
This is a spacious place, the movie selection is generally fine, and one really can't say much in the way of complaints for the cost of admission.
I've been going to this dollar theater since the early 90's and I love it. Ticket prices keep going up everywhere else, but they manage to hold the line at Windchimes; well except when they went from $1.00 to $1.50, but Tuesdays are still just $1.00.
True it's not great for a first date, but I always throw in a date to the dollar theater or two early in the relationship to make sure she's no gold digger.
Not to mention you're very likely to have a lot of privacy since the shows are so sparsely attended.
Yea, the popcorn RULES, and they don't gouge you on the prices. The slushies are great too, I highly recommend them.
Parking is great too, the lot never gets very full so you're always close to the door.
its a cool place with a family of 6 it takes only 2 visits before our card gets fully stamped so every other time we get a free popcorn. Its cheap. the movies that would normally would cost us almost SIXTY FREAKEN DOLLARS in a regular theater cost us about 6. YOU CANT BEAT THAT. For that price ill put up with a little trash and itch(if that were true). Mostly its clean, but a nice humble fun place to chill with your family.
We frequent Windchimes and love the old school video games. The popcorn is great and they sell Mr. Pibb!! Great for families and teenagers spending their parent's money.
This is a great place to take the kids. Instead of dropping $35 to see the latest Madagascar that you don't want to see anyways, you only have to spend $6 ($4.00 if you go on a Tuesday). My estimates are based on a family of 4 for an evening showing. It's also great if you missed a movie at the regular theater, but still want to see it on the big screen before it goes to DVD. Sometimes they even have the movie after it's gone to DVD. The popcorn here tastes better than the regular theaters. I think it's the old time popper that makes it taste so good. If you aren't trying to impress someone, this is a great place to go. I don't know if I'd take a first date here, they might think you're cheap. If they already know you are, then go for it.
Can't find a better dollar cinema! Don't expect stadium seats, but a clean theater. The latest movies are shown before they get out on DVD, so if you're willing to wait just a few weeks, you'll save a whole lot of money and enjoy the movie even more. Take advantage of their popcorn coupon--10 visits=free popcorn. When we ask, they even give us an extra empty bag so that we can share the popcorn. We go once a week to Windchimes even though we can well afford to go to other more expensive cinemas. In this economy, we know where we can save and still enjoy good entertainment.
plenty of free parking, good flicks, this place rocks
