We find the house on trulia, met with the broker / owner (according to the brazoria county appraisal district) and discussed the house and details of the lease we agree with tony, his wife and their son Eric Ramos that we would lease the house for a year and then buy from them after the years lease contract! We all agreed that terms were fair and moved forward with the application deposit we paid 35.00 and couple days later they contacted me saying we were approved I told them the I was going to go over the budget and get with them so we could put the deposit down and hold the house. They called me back a day later (Sunday) and asked when we would be able to get the deposit I told them that Friday would be best they in turn informed me that they had another family interested and that they wanted the deposit sooner or they were going to run their credit. I called them back 20 mins later and said I had the deposit and would meet them the next day, Monday after work at 5:30 at the house so we could fo over the contract. Later that evening I received an email stating that he had a family emergency and that he and family had to fly to LA. In which time we told our current landlord notice he listed the house and was actively showing so he could replace tenants. I called and left messages to let Tony know we were still interested and had the deposit and awaited his return so we could sign the contract.
Friday evening a friend decided something was fishy and called the number to find that the very person who claimed they were away on a family emergency was in fact in town and willing to set up an appointment to show the home to her, he said there was someone intereated but they were waiting for the dwposit so the house was still available. We called tiny from another phone and that's when they informed us that they had changed their mind and decided to lease to another family! So now our current home is up for rent and we have no other home to move into as planned!
We are a 6 person family that has till August 31st to find an adequate home because of this "brokers" shady, and unethical practices!
