Computer repair for 11 years of experience!

I live in Spring and am available on weekends and some weekdays for Computer repair and troubleshooting. I work 7am to 4pm at my day job as a computer and network professional. Although, limited hours of operation... take advantage of the fact that you can talk to and consult with someone who really cares and will devote personal attention to your unique situation. Answer questions that a geek cannot correctly answer. Some computers can be repaired and still be cost effective, Other timesyou are better-off purchasing a new computer. With the cost of quality computers falling every minute all you have to do is understand what type of work(or play) you wish to accomplish with the computer you have or intend to purchase. If you walk in to buy a computer... MAKE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN OF ONE THING... TELL THE SALES PERSON(if the don't ask you) WHAT YOU WANT TO DO WITH THIS COMPUTER INVESTMENT. If they change the subject... WALK AWAY!

SPYWARE AND VIRUSES

Spyware and virus attacks can be frustrating at the very least. That's one of the plagues I have fought successfully for about 6 years.

They try to scare you....

Most spyware out there attempt to scare you into buying their software. (It's convenient that the second spyware pops up there is a link to a webside that will automatically remove the suspected threat.) This is sometimes called "Scare-Ware". If you purchase the fix online from the link that is provided to you, YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER, (used to purchase the software) IS NOW STOLEN!! If this happens, report the charge to your financial institution immediately! IT IS FRAUD!!

TIP:
Application errors that pop up and prevent normal operation are the most difficult to troubleshoot. This is still the main frustration of business and home users alike. The trick to maintaining normal operation is to minimize the number of variables(installed applications) on your machine. The fewer variables, the less likelyhood of experiencing an application conflict or other error that could prevent smooth, normal operation.
