Host Families Needed for International High School Students

Houston, TX • 11/04/2008

SHARE YOUR AMERICA

America comes alive for students from over 40 countries around the world

through the pride of families just like yours. By opening your door, you will

open students' eyes to the real America: real people, real experiences, and

real life. What you have to offer is you—your family, your home, your values,

and the unique characteristics of your hometown. While our students learn

about American culture, you and your family will learn as well—gaining understanding

of the world and recognition of your own traditions and heritage.

DO A WORLD OF GOOD

Cultural exchange has a lot to do with spirit. With your help, international

students transform from wide-eyed newcomers to cherished family members

and high school friends. And student exchange is about more than just

“right now.” It is a vital part of public diplomacy, as personal connections

formed in adolescence make exchange students ambassadors for America

throughout their lives. Not only do students spread the good word about

America abroad, but they often stay friends for life!

MAKE YOUR FAMILY AN EF FOUNDATION FAMILY

EF Foundation, a non-profit organization, works with you to find just the

right student to fit your family’s interests. You will also receive help from EF

Foundation’s local International Exchange Coordinator during the selection

process and throughout the exchange year. All EF Foundation students are

thoroughly screened, fully insured, and bring their own spending money.

Host families provide room, board, and a caring environment.
