Bring Home the World Host an Exchange Student

Host families sought for exchange students
Volunteer host families are needed for the Academic Year/Semester (August 2008 to June 2009), for high school exchange students 16 and 17 years old.
The Center for Cultural Interchange is seeking homes for students from Italy,Beligum, Romania, China, Vietnam, Korea, Japan,Argentina, Brazil, Latin America, Germany, Middle East, Russia and the Independent States.

The students arrive in mid-August and stay through the end of June.
They attend your local public high school; however some private schools
will provide a scholarship if we have a committed host family and can
contact them far enough in advance. The kids have excellent insurance
and their own spending money. Host families provide a bed (sharing a
room is ok), meals, arrange transportation to school (bus is ok), and
most importantly provide the opportunity for the students to learn about
America by participating in everyday family life. There are strict
rules against the students driving, and the students are to abide by
family rules (curfew, chores, computer use, etc).

They undergo an extensive application and selection process, personal interviews and orientation. The students become family members, sharing culture, language and friendship with the American host.
