from Milwaukee
Houston, TX • 09/14/2007
You left Milwaukee not too long ago. You threw a nice little going away party at a particularly tasty Mexican restaurant. "All things aside", you invited me, probably because, for you, it was closure. As we were hugging goodbye, you said something and followed it up with, 'cuz I know how you are...'.
That, my dear, beautiful friend, is not why things were the way they were. They happened because I know how you are. I watched you push people away on more than one occasion under the guise of them doing something completely horrifying to you. I watched (and listened) to the story, and I knew that you would get over whatever the problem happened to be at that point in time. I listened to you stew over the wrong doings of that person, and how they would gravel to be your friend.
I doubt you noticed that I didn't gravel to make things right. I doubt you even thought about the 'reason' we were no longer friends. I doubt you realized that not only had you blown me off for weeks prior, but I had only missed our meeting time once. I doubt you meant all the things you said to me at that point in time. I know that because you wanted to make amends.
I wish you well in everything you do. I know you will succeed if you actually try. You are an amazing person, with many good qualities. I'm sorry things went the way they did.
I have an extra room if you come back to visit.
