PRINC. SQA Engineer – San Francisco - SOMA

Responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a v1.0 product and build the enterprise quality product that will be the base of the product for years to come. We are looking for a motivated candidates to take on the 1.0 challenge and make an impact. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, and has 8+ years relevant experience.

The candidate will be responsible for test planning, test case development, and test automation. The candidate will also ensure the QA/Engineering labs are fully operational for their day-to-day operations. You will help design, build, and maintain the network infrastructure within the lab to maintain overall stability and operational effectiveness. Specific responsibilities will include applying network related knowledge in network design and implementation and engaging lab support related activities.

Requirements:

* Performs engineering design reviews.

* Develop and execute performance tests.

* Actively proposes designs that support testability.

* Ability to develop programs and scripts to automate testing.

* Experience with Cisco switch, router and firewall administration

* Linux system administration, including services like dhcp, kickstart, NIS etc.

* Exceptional troubleshooting skills of network and system configuration issues.

* Experience with VMWare

* Thorough knowledge of various operating systems, TCP/IP and networking.

* Ability to debug and resolve networking/lab issues

* Ability to setup a lab for testing the enterprise software product.

* Good verbal and written communication skills

* Self motivated and hard working individual

* Trains Junior SQA Engineers in all the tasks and capabilities needed for their position.

Preferred Skills:

* Websense experience

* Java programming

* Wccp knowledge



Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

8+ years of relevant experience.

Advanced at utilizing a structured programming language to interface with existing project source code, commonly referred to as a "test harness." Expert in SQA methodology. Track record of specific application of this knowledge to resulting in project success. Track record of isolating complex issues at the subsystem, project, cross project or cross tier level. Specific contributions to building team strength through talent acquisition or mentoring.
